Exploring life in the country in India can be a richly immersive experience. There are rhythms and routines which may be common to the people who live out their lives in the village settlements in its different states – but there is always a local twist which makes those narratives so unique and engaging. It could be the styles of the homes they have built, the crops that the grow the irrigation methods they employ; it could be about the kind of livestock which could important to them, the crafts they create, the dress code they follow, their religious and socio-economic practices—yes all the things that are attached to the business of living and making a living upon the land in which you reside.
This tour brings you to an authentic Rajasthani village where you will encounter the slow pace of country life; it will infuse you with the enthusiasm of an alternative way of living from that of hectic city life such as that you have met in a city like Jaipur.
We will leave early in the morning on this tour in which we will experience the hospitality in a village settlement. We will visit one of the homes here and have tea and conversations with the family. The best way to truly get knowledge about the life and culture of a location is to spend time with its locals and experience life as they do. Spend time at village chaupal, or public space, where the village community gathers together villagers. At the chaupal, you will meet and enjoy conversations with the villagers about their lives… the challenges they faced and the successes they have enjoyed. And you will learn too about how the village goes about everyday life and what engages them from day to day. Later we will pedal on to a castle where we will enjoy a hearty breakfast and enjoy the regal environs of the royal residence.
