This guided tour takes us to the heart of Mysore, wandering past grand old structures that hold many a story about the city’s past and present. Along the way will learn about the opulent lives of Mysore legendary maharajas. Browsing around the century-old market we will fill ourselves with the wonderment of the hustle and bustle of the market scene, filled with vendors and housewives, farmers and cart pullers bring in the days produce…Not that much seems to have changed over the decades.
Exploring Explore the plaza around Dufferin clock tower where the locals gather and then head to the evening bazaar. Mysore Pak, Mysore Masala Dosa, Mysore Churumuri the list goes on with gastronomical delights from the city. If you are a foodie then Mysore spoils you with its wide variety options. Now, who doesn't enjoy some good food especially when there is so much out there to choose from. And mind you, we take all matters related to food quite seriously!!
We start the walk in the heart of the city to get an understanding of how the history of Mysore connects to important historical events in America and Europe as we walk past some beautiful heritage structures like the Town Hall and the Clock Tower. We will discover the deep roots of royalty which shaped the fortunes of this city as we stop at intricately carved marble statue of the king in the roundabout of Statue Square. For a sugar high, we will pop in for traditional Mysore Pak sold by a shop from the great-grandson of the royal chef who invented it. Strolling around the 125-year old Devaraja Market we will travel back in time and imagine these same vibrant scenes from times past.
