After an early breakfast, visit the ancient citadel city of Sigiriya, built on a sheer rock deep in a lush forest. This remarkable 5th-century archaeological site is unforgettable for its dramatic setting. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens with water bodies ring the rock's base. The highlight is the delicate frescoes of 'Heavenly Maidens'. Learn about the ancient prince who killed his father to claim the throne and had to flee to this pleasure palace-cum fortress. Reaching the top of Sigiriya Rock requires a climb of 1,200 stone steps up and then down. Anybody in reasonably good condition can venture to the top of Sigiriya Rock, and it's certainly worth the effort.

The day starts with an early breakfast and a drive to Dambulla by private vehicle to visit the Rock Cave. Treasured by many kings since the 1st century B.C., the golden Dambulla Rock Temple houses some of the most unique drawings in five magnificent cave temples. Observe exquisite cave paintings along walls that shelter 150 statues of Lord Buddha. The highlight is the gigantic Buddha statue glittering in gold. Later, cycle to the Matale Spice Garden for a mouthwatering lunch. Rest before you cycle approximately 50 miles to Kandy.

Experience an ancient Kandyan legacy engraved around its crown jewel, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. Enjoy a brief tour of the beautiful Kandy town. Last ruled by King Sri Wickram Rajasinghe, Kandy came under British rule in 1815. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is the last royal capital of Sri Lankan kings and a hub of crafts, culture, history and heritage. Stroll across this small lakeside town cradled among the misty hills. Explore Kandy City Centre, bundled with the latest and world-class brands, a bazaar, an arts and crafts centre, and a gem museum & lapidary. Drive towards Victoria Golf Course, one of the best golf courses in the world. Glide through fresh fruits and vegetables in the Kandy market. The evening ends with a cultural show of traditional music and drumming, enhancing the vibrant culture of the Wonder of Asia, Sri Lanka. Check-in at the hotel and relax.

Challenge yourself to a cycling journey of 50 miles that starts from a height of 1,640 feet and ascends to 6,200 feet above sea level. Pedal the scenic route to Labookellie via Galaha, Puppuressa, and Delpitiya. Visit the Labukelle Tea Estate for a leaf preparation demonstration and sip a refreshing beverage cup. Continue to cycle to your hotel or opt for a transfer by a private vehicle.

Leave early morning with a packed breakfast to Horton Plains for an invigorating trek. This UNESCO World Heritage Site and eco-tourism hideout, painted with unending stretches of green pastures, is one of the healthiest wet montane evergreen forests in Sri Lanka. With an altitude above 7000ft, the plateau sweeps to a robust 3169 hectares sheltering rare flora and fauna varieties. As the tributary of Belihul Oya, Bakers Falls, thunders down rocks head off the beaten track across frost-covered grass. Feel the icy-cold wind against your face and gaze down World's End, a head-spinning 3700ft drop towards the Southern end. Drive through herds of shy sambar deer and follow chirping birds. You may see a grunting wild boar, a fishing cat, an otter, or even the Sri Lankan leopard, the 'Spotted Ghost that haunts the plains'. Return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Proceed to Nuwara Eliya, visiting a tea plantation en route. Check-in at the hotel and prepare for an exciting full-day game drive at Yala National Park.

After breakfast, check out and depart for Deniyaya. The agenda for the day is to visit Sinharaja. With an average annual rainfall between 3000-6000 mm, Sinharaja is one of the world's finest examples of tropical rainforests. This UNESCO World Heritage Site and biosphere reserve abounds in endemic flora and fauna. Kudawa Pitadeniya and Morning Side entrances are ripe with spotted deer, hog deer, golden palm civet, stripe-necked mongoose, butterflies and reptiles sheltered by striking evergreen vegetation. Even though there haven't been elephant sightings recently, constant leopard trails prove that the 'King of Games' still haunts this tropical stage. Return to the hotel with a million memories.

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Kitulgala. Check into the hotel and spend the day at leisure.

After a hearty breakfast, leave for an adventurous day of white water rafting and visiting Belilena Caves. Showered by two monsoons each year, Kitulgala - the movie location for 'The Bridge on the River Kwai', is one of the wettest places in Sri Lanka. Grab your gear and toss into the wild rapids for a seamless rafting challenge on thundering white waters. Hop from rock to rock upstream for a mind-blowing waterfall jump that will strain your vocal cords to the core. Slide down to the darkest depths of caves haunted by millions of bats. If hardcore adventurism is not for you, trek along the beaten track to admire the immaculate beauty of the wilderness. Return to the hotel and relax.
