The Shivapuri Nagarjuna National Park, spread over 159.00 sq km, has been declared as the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. It is a botanical wonder with its ancient forests of oak, pine, rhododendron, moss and lichens and stands of bamboo The park is also home to a host of faunal species.
Located a short drive north of Kathmandu, the trail serves up exciting opportunities to inquire into its amazing avifaunal and botanical wealth – and the incredible scenic beauty of the Langtang Himalaya. This exhilarating hike passes through beautiful rhododendron forest trails and herb-scented spaces. Over 177 species of birds have made it their home, of which at least 9 are threatened species; the park is home to 102 species of butterflies, so keep your eyes peeled while walking the trail for some interesting sightings.
