Some of the world’s tea is cultivated in Sri Lanka. The country’s lesser-known plantations also make some tasteful artisanal teas. One such plantation is situated not far from Galle. Enjoy a trip to this plantation and tea factory in early morning or late afternoon. E You are most likely to see brightly clad pickers hypnotically selecting leaves by hand in you start the experience in the morning.

Explore the vast expanse of the plantation through its beautiful pathways and look out for plants and wildlife such as peacocks, lemongrass and jackfruit.  Your host will take your through the intricacies of tea cultivation and its Sri Lankan heritage as you walk amongst rolling hills of tea bushes. Post the walk proceed to the factory to witness the tea leaves being processed and being readied to grace the teacups.
