Chokkarmudi Trek

Chokramudi is located between Bison valley and Munnar. A short and easy trek leading through its jewel-like treasury of natural beauty the Chokkarmudi Trek easily wins the hearts and imagination of the avid trekker. The summit itself affords the panoramic spectacle of tea plantations, Anamudi peak, and Idukki Dam. The sunrises are supposed to be absolutely spectacular from this vantage point. The kick-off for Chokramudi is close to the Lockhart Estate on the Munnar - Poopara Road.

Why you will love it

  • A wonderful short and easy  trek it still offers fabulous experiences  and panoramas of this rich bio-diverse forestland
  • Unique botanical treasures to marvel over and birding opportunities
  • Enjoying the natural beauty of the Southern Western Ghats
  • What you will experience

The remarkably distinctive peak of Chokkarmudi is a popular landmark in the Munnar landscape. Overlooking the vast acreage of Lockhart Tea Estate, Chokkarmudi offers trekking through various landscapes, starting with tea plantations slowly transitioning into shola forests, grasslands and bald rock faces. The start point of the trek will be according to your convenience. This trek route is not circular due to lack of accessibility from the other side and therefore ascent and descent will be through the same route. Nonetheless, this is an unmissable trek as it offers numerous breath-taking visuals of the Munnar panorama.
