Though Kerala cuisine is traditionally vegetarian, the interaction with different settlers resulted in the locals also adopting some of their culinary traditions. Kerala favourites such as vindaloo, grilled sardines, Kerala fish curry, crumb chops, ball curry, coconut rice, etc all have their origin in Portuguese food culture.
