Views & valleys

A short cycling tour down a pretty forest trail, which was actually meant to once accommodate a railway track,   offers an exceptional adventure. A great sampling is a ride-along several hill slopes from Shimla to Fagu, along the old road originally meant to serve as a railway track. For some reason the project was abandoned by the British, so now local folks use it as a public thoroughfare. And since there’s practically no vehicular traffic it’s a cyclist’s dream ride. The scenic views of Himalayan vistas and apple orchards along the way are a great bonus too.

  • Cycling adventure.
  • No ups and downs. Almost flat surface.
  • Forested road so hardly any traffic.
  • Himalayan Views.
  • Explore with a local navigator.

How about cycling on a road that originally was laid for railway track? A half an hour drive takes you to the starting point of the cycle trek. Almost a flat eighteen-kilometre long road passing through the cedar forest is a perfect place for a ride. The road does have some villages on the way but almost with no traffic. Return the same way and here we end the ride.
