This trek offers a delightful experience of the vivid beauty of Shimla’s natural beauty. Shali Tibba (9,400 ft) is a splendid vantage point for panoramic views of its environs. A rewarding trek for both adventure buffs and photographers Shali Tibba dominates the environs of the Mashobra Ridge. It is just 6km from the picturesque hill town of Mashobra. Atop the peak is a small temple dedicated to Bhima Kali. The wooden shrine is built according to rural Himalayan architectural traditions.
The route to Khatnol village, the base for this hike, is measured by forests of blue pine and cedar. The deep silences of these forests are an excellent overture to the wonder and tranquillity of Shali Tibba.
It's a two-hour drive from Shimla to the basecamp from where you start the trek. The hike from the base camp of Khatnol village to Shali Tibba is about 7 km. Along the way you will enjoy the clouds clinging to the deep valleys, hanging cliffs, forested trails branching off in different directions, birdsong from some hidden Himalayan birds and a few village houses…
. For most of the part, the home is easy, with some tough patches along the way. From the top of the peak, you will get gorgeous panoramas of the snow peaks, the Sutlej valley and the forested enclaves of Narkanda, Fagu and Shimla.
